How I got my start...
Kind of like everyone, or maybe not......
I got tired of living life so rigidly. After six years in Higher Ed, I was out here recruiting for a school that probably wasn’t going to invest much more in me. I had a real conversation with God and knew there had to be more. That’s when I started to actually believe in my
creative abilities. From there, I created my first creative platform, called "20Sumn." A space designed to highlight millennial creatives and their journeys. I documented everything, and most of it came in the form of photo journalism. Check out some of my work.
In 2015 I wrote an anthology with 17 of my friends, and did all the design/marketing/conceptualizing for it too...........
The 99Book is all about triumph and never giving up. I wanted to create a space for young people to tell their own stories, and that’s exactly what this book does. The idea hit me while I was driving—literally moving my life from Virginia to Oklahoma. Never in a million years did I think "author" would be a title I’d claim. But what makes me proud isn’t just the book itself—it’s the people I got to share this journey with.
